Marieke has been active in advisory and litigation practice in the field of financial regulatory law and compliance with integrity legislation, including the Wwft and Sw, since 2011. Until 2019, she worked as an attorney-at-law. From 2019 to early 2026, she served as a senior manager at BDO Tax & Legal, where she was responsible for the financial regulatory practice and was a member of the national Financial Sector management team.

Marieke specializes in the implementation and enforcement of financial regulatory and integrity legislation. She has extensive experience advising financial institutions, including investment firms, payment institutions and banks. She has assisted numerous organizations in implementing obligations under the Wft and Wwft in a practical and effective manner. She also has substantial experience advising and representing parties in their interactions with the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).

Marieke regularly provides training courses and tailored programmes for policymakers and staff of financial institutions. She frequently publishes on financial regulatory law and is a member of the DSI Accreditation Committee. In addition to her work at Keijser Van der Velden, she is affiliated with Erasmus University as a lecturer.
