Financial law and pension matters

Advice

Keijser Van der Velden acts for parties that are active on the financial markets and in the pension sector. We advise banks, investment firms, managers of (regulated and unregulated) investment funds, pension executers, pension administrators, payment institutions, crowdfunding platforms and crypto service providers.

We oversee and intertwine developments in the markets with deep and up to date knowledge of the relevant areas of expertise. We bring together and make connections between civil law, corporate law, financial law and pension law. We gained our expertise with internationally operating investors, internal and external supervision, tier one law firms and academia. Our expertise enables us to advise cross-sectoral and strategically.

We have an excellent working relationship with both Dutch supervisors, the Autority for the Financial Markets and the Dutch Central Bank.

Litigation

Our goal is to find the best solution for our clients. Typically through mediation and joint consultation but sometimes litigation is necessary.

We act on behalf of our clients in disputes within the financial sector and the pension sector. For example, we litigate on duty of care, governance, compliance, cooperation structures and pension matters such as administration agreements.

We have extensive experience on collective actions for investors. Some examples can be found here.

Publications & Lectures

We regularly publish on topics within the area of our expertise. As such sharpening our minds and in search of further deepening our knowledge. We also regularly give lectures on developments in financial law to lawyers, advisors and employees of financial institutions.

Lawyers and civil-law notaries can obtain certification for their professional education.

The topics vary from general introductions and recent developments, to in-depth seminars on investment funds, outsourcing, AML regulations and clearing & settlement.
